Splitter ("we", "our", or "the app") is a receipt-splitting app that helps you divide expenses with friends. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we access, how it is used, and your rights.
Splitter accesses your device camera solely to photograph receipts for item recognition. Photos are processed entirely on your device using on-device text recognition. Receipt images are stored locally on your device and are never uploaded to external servers.
With your permission, Splitter can import receipt photos from your photo library for item recognition. Imported photos are processed on-device and are not uploaded.
With your permission, Splitter can read your device contacts to help you quickly add people to a split. We access first names, last names, and phone numbers. Contact data is used only within the app to pre-fill names and phone numbers for SMS messaging. Contact data is never uploaded, shared, or stored outside your device.

Receipt data, contacts, and split history remain entirely on your device. Limited subscription data is shared with RevenueCat as described below.
Splitter uses RevenueCat to manage the optional Splitter Pro subscription. RevenueCat receives an anonymous subscriber identifier, purchase transaction details (such as product purchased and purchase date), and basic device information (device model, operating system version, and vendor identifier) to verify and manage your subscription status. RevenueCat does not receive your name, contacts, receipt data, or payment method details. For more information, see RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
Splitter may link to third-party payment apps (Venmo, Cash App, Zelle) at your request to facilitate payments. These links open the respective apps on your device. We do not share any data with these services. Your use of third-party payment apps is governed by their respective privacy policies.
Splitter offers an optional annual subscription ("Splitter Pro") processed through Apple's App Store. Payment information is handled by Apple and is not accessible to us. RevenueCat receives purchase transaction details to manage your subscription status, but does not receive your billing or payment method information. Please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy for details on how Apple handles payment data.
Splitter does not use analytics, advertising, or behavioral tracking frameworks. We do not collect usage data or behavioral information. We do not use cookies or similar technologies.
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. Limited data is shared with RevenueCat solely for subscription management as described above. No other data is shared with third parties.
Splitter is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
All local data can be deleted at any time by deleting the Splitter app from your device. You can also clear individual split history from within the app. To request deletion of subscription data held by RevenueCat, contact us at the email below.
Since nearly all data remains on your device, you have full control over your information at all times. For any data held by third-party services (RevenueCat), you may contact us to request access or deletion.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
